Mediation resolves most issues in a collaborative, timely, and cost-efficient way. Most importantly, it can restore relationships and help develop skills to prevent the conflict from arising in the future. Flexibility is at the core of mediation, as any agreement or resolution is entirely of the parties’ making. In essence, a mediation is a facilitated negotiation, and as mediator I manage the process for the parties, and assist them to develop ideas and proposals towards reaching a mutually acceptable resolution. There are four key elements to any mediation - it is a voluntary process, the parties are entirely free to to both enter and leave any mediation. Secondly, the mediator must remain entirely neutral and impartial throughout the process. Thirdly, mediation is a self-determinative process, the parties decide the outcome which suits them best. Fourthly, mediation is entirely confidential as between the parties and the mediator.
Family & Separating Couples Mediation. My work in this area is informed by many years’ experience of working with families and separating couples and their attendant issues in my former law practice. As your mediator I will work with you to ensure that you achieve the best possible outcome, and forge a path ahead to that suits you and your family. The confidentiality and self-determination of the mediation process makes it a very attractive option to many separating couples. As with all mediations, you retain control of the outcome. One of the great benefits of mediation is that it can help to restore equilibrium within a relationship, which can have lasting positive effects for you and your wider family. It is also a much more cost-effective and speedy process than the courts. Contact me for a no-obligation informal chat if you would like to know more about this.
